~恒恒日记~ Kai goes Diaper-free

I remember for the short 15 months when I had big K as the ONLY child, I always diligently documented milestones and achievements by her very regularly until that old page shut down. But since little K came along, I realised that documentation of milestones by BOTH of them, especially the little one has been very sparse. I guess, time hasn’t been plentiful since I became a mother of two and at the same time, managing a fledging business in a competitive industry.

I remember when Big K went diaper-less, I had the date. But when Little K went diaper-less in the day time, I remember no date nor month, only something like ‘shortly after she turned 3’. I made no effort in potty training for her, unlike the big sister, she just did it all on her own and at her own initiative.

Now, she has gone diaper-less at nights as well and I did not record the date down too. But thankfully, I remember the day she asked to be off diaper (yes, she asked for that), was the day when she went to an excursion with her kindergarten. So, check the date I did, against the school’s calendar. It was the night on 16 April 2015, a Thursday. I did not know what came over her to decide on that especially when she had shown inconsistent signs of readiness prior to that day, i.e., I was still getting full diapers in the mornings most of the time. But ready she was indeed. She followed her big sister’s night time routine that very night and the next morning, all dry and accident-free. I was still unsure and asked her the few nights that followed if she needed diapers, but her conviction was certainly stronger than the confidence I had in her. So, one month on, I am proud to say that my dear little K, my little baby, is officially diaper-free and bottle-free (THIS, was another unrecorded milestone…she had gone bottle-free since mid-2014 October 2014 before she turned 4, together with her jiejie).

Sad to say, the terrible mummy did not take a picture of her the first morning she woke up diaper-less. Neither did I give her a big reward (the jiejie had a trip to HK as we promised to bring her overseas ONLY if she stopped using diapers). She received a Little Pony Playdoh set and she had it very overdue. Neither did I take a picture of her with her reward, so here I post, very guiltily, a picture of her with her most favourite toy — Playdoh — one month since she went diaper-free at night.

Little K, whether or not mummy remember your milestones or not, I love you still very very much and I am very proud of you.
